The Fiorina Foundation, a “charitable organization” chaired by Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, was found to have donated nearly $500,000 to Planned Parenthood over a two year period.

The Fiorina Foundation, run by The Ayco Charitable Foundation, collectively gave $467,275 to Planned Parenthood from 2011 to 2013. This revelation completely contradicts the strong stance that Fiorina has expressed against Planned Parenthood. The money doesn’t come directly from Fiorina. It goes through several channels before getting to Planned Parenthood.

The Fiorina Foundation isn’t a real charitable organization. It’s actually an account that Fiorina and her husband have with the Ayco Charitable Foundation, which is a “donor-advised fund.” Fiorina funds the account, and Ayco distributes that money on behalf of the account-holders.

The Daily Beast noted:

In 2011, 2012, and 2013 combined, Ayco distributed $467,275 to various Planned Parenthoods. In other words, Fiorina has entrusted her money with an organization that funneled nearly half a million dollars into Planned Parenthood. Meanwhile, Fiorina’s presidential campaign has been, since the second Republican debate, defined by her opposition to funding Planned Parenthood.

With increased poll numbers, Fiorina is facing increased exposure. Between firing tens of thousands of employees to get rich, and withholding pay from a dead employee’s family, she seems unlikely to get the GOP nod.
