Fox News had Republican House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy appear on its station the other day in an effort to rehabilitate the legitimacy of the Benghazi Select Committee. Last week McCarthy admitted during a television interview that the committee has simply been a tool to harm Hillary Clinton, and try to pull off a fraud on the American public so that the GOP can capture the White House. In fact, the Benghazi Committee is the longest Congressional investigation in history, even longer than those for Watergate, the Kennedy assassination, and Pearl Harbor.

Recognizing how devastating McCarthy’s admission is to the GOP, Fox News invited McCarthy on air to backtrack on what he said. In the below episode, Fox News host Bret Baier tossed as many softballs as he could to McCarthy in order to convince the public the Benghazi Select Committee is legitimate.
