Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said on Tuesday that if he were at Umpqua Community College during the shooting, he would have rallied the entire class to attack the shooter. Someone’s been watching too many action movies.

“I would not just stand there and let him shoot me,” said Carson on Fox News. “I would say, ‘Hey, guys, everybody attack him. He may shoot me, but he can’t get us all.’”

The candidate wouldn’t have to resort to such drastic actions to stop an attacker. Carson simply has to talk to the shooter, and the shooter would fall asleep on the spot.
