Democrats on the House Select Committee on Benghazi have begun releasing details from one of the committee’s private interviews with a former Hillary Clinton aide. Republicans on the Select Committee, however, are refusing to release anything.

Last week, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Fox News that the House Select Committee on Benghazi was created to carry out a political hit job on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Democrats also sent a letter to Republicans on the committee, calling out the party’s unfair portrayal of certain interviews and attempt to attack Clinton with unfounded and debunked claims.

“Although some Republicans attempted to explain away Rep. McCarthy’s admission, it reflected exactly what has been going on within the Select Committee for the past year-and-a-half,” the letter read. “It has held no hearings of any kind since January, and it has completely abandoned its plans to hear public testimony from top defense and intelligence officials so Republicans can focus almost exclusively on Hillary Clinton.”
