An officer with the Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico ran down a suspect, who was wanted for grand theft, in his vehicle while the suspect was fleeing.

The gruesome body camera footage shows an undercover officer getting into his large pick-up truck to close in on the suspect, Danan Gabaldon. The undercover officer then yanks the wheel hard-right to hit the suspect. The APD maintains that it was an accident, but considering the APD’s violent past and footage, the department’s claim is hard to swallow.

After the undercover officer struck Gabaldon, several more officers pinned the suspect, tased him in the back of the head, and struck him in the head with the taser weapon.

Watch.
