On Wednesday, a New York Times staffer tweeted “Fuck you Jeb Bush” and deleted the tweet shortly after Bush discussed an anti-poverty plan.
Bush reduced poverty to a family issue, saying that in order to combat it, those families need to be stronger. The staffer, Philip B. Richardson, tweeted “Fuck you Jb Bush for telling poor people they need stronger families to not be poor. Poverty weakens families.”
The tweet was captured by an editor from a conservative news site.

The NYT released a statement noting that Richardson is not a reporter or editor whose opinion does not reflect that of the publication. The statement said that managers will take the appropriate action.
Unfortunately, Richardson will likely get fired or disciplined. But, he’s right about Bush.
