At least two long-time veterans of the Chicago Police Department were accused of operating a sex-trafficking scandal involving a 14-year-old girl.

Initially, the officers were caught possessing child pornography, but an Internal Affairs investigation found that the officers were using underground webpages to advertise the girl for prostitution. The Chicago PD has brought in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to help with the investigation.

The officers in question have been stripped of their city-sanctioned powers and reassigned to administrative positions pending the investigation’s outcome. Because charges have not been pressed against the officers, their names were withheld.

The Chicago PD has developed an increasingly negative reputation in the last few years relating to officer corruption and the supposed operating of a CIA-like black site where suspects were alleged to have been illegally detained for hours, sometimes days.
