Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson has edged out Donald Trump for the lead in some national polls.

According to the latest national CBS News/New York Times poll, 26 percent of Republican primary voters support Carson while Trump trails in second place with 22 percent of Republican primary support. The rest of the GOP candidates are hardly competing as they’re polling in single digits.

Considering that Carson is polling well among Tea Party Republicans, he wouldn’t do well in the general election being that overall national support for the Tea Party has taken a nosedive. With over a dozen candidates in the GOP race, it’s easy for a crazy front-runner to emerge, just take a look at Trump.

Considering Trump’s massive ego, will this drop signify Trump’s continuous drop, or is this a minor setback for the bombastic candidate?
