Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is expected to succeed Republican House Speaker John Boehner when Boehner leaves his position. This is concerning because at least Boehner wanted to avoid government shutdowns, but Ryan couldn’t care less.
The budget would be in serious danger if Ryan became the new House Speaker since he wants to privatize nearly every aspect of government operation save the military. Ryan doesn’t just want to shut down the government, he wants to put it completely out of business. While Ryan chaired the House Budget Committee, he introduced a plan designed to scale back social programs until all the funding went to the military.
Under Ryan’s plan, Social Security and Medicare would be almost completely dismantled by 2050, accounting for only 3.5 percent of the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The military would get a huge boost, but people will struggle getting health care and making ends meet.
Ryan wants to strengthen the military at the expense of the people. He’s an enemy of the people. Ryan recently came under fire for wanting guaranteed family leave but denying federally mandated family leave for Americans. What do you expect from someone from Wisconsin?
