On Sunday, Bernie Sanders laid into Donald Trump for spreading a culture of racism and xenophobia. At a campaign event in Las Vegas, Sanders called Trump out directly.
“For Donald Trump or anyone in this country to refer to people from Mexico as rapists and criminals, that is not an American value,” said Sanders. “That is old-fashioned racism, and we will not tolerate it.”
Sanders went on to talk about how unacceptable Trump’s policy’s are.
“It is not an American value to talk about rounding up millions of people and simply say that we are going to throw them out of the country. That is xenophobia,” he said.
