The battle of the right-wing blowhards continues as Bill O’Reilly and George Will continue to tear at each other over O’Reilly’s book “Killing Reagan.”
Last night, O’Reilly responded to Will’s second op-ed that attacked O’Reilly’s book, but he also promised that he would not spend any more airtime on Will after last night. In his op-ed, Will accused O’Reilly of waging a personal “jihad” against him.
Will accused O’Reilly of attempting to undermine Reagan and discredit him as a conservative:
O’Reilly impales himself on a contradiction: He says his book is “laudatory” about Reagan – and that it is being attacked by Reagan “guardians” and “loyalists.”How odd. Liberals, who have long recognized that to discredit conservatism they must devalue Reagan’s presidency, surely are delighted with O’Reilly’s assistance. The diaspora of Reagan administration alumni, and the conservative movement, now recognize O’Reilly as an opportunistic interloper.
O’Reilly responded by answering a viewer of his program and claiming that that Washington Post refuses run his response to Will’s op-eds.
“The Washington Post will not print the rebuttal written by me and Martin Dugard,” said O’Reilly.
