Following the terrorist attacks on Paris last Friday, a tweet of Donald Trump’s went viral. In it, the Republican presidential candidate scorned Paris for its supposed anti-gun policies.

“Isn’t it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?” the tweet from January read.

French ambassador Gérard Araud replied to Trump, “This message is repugnant in its lack of any human decency. Vulture.”

The tweet from the ambassador was deleted later.
