Larry Wilmore on The Nightly Show appeared last night with a re-vamped version of the timeless children’s book Goodnight Moon to criticize the changes Texas is making to its school history books.

The changes include replacing “slave trade” with the “Atlantic triangular trade,” and cutting out the KKK and Jim Crow altogether.

As a further affront to actual history and factuality, the Texas Board of Education has said that they won’t let academics fact check textbooks.

Wilmore ends the segment by reading his newly re-written book Goodnight Slavery to a group of unimpressed children.

“Goodnight, slavery
goodnight, bravery.
Goodnight to things
we find unsavory.”
