SpaceX, a privately owned company which develops and launches rockets and spacecraft, has succeeded in creating the first reusable rocket by launching the rocket into space and then bringing it safely back to Earth in a vertical landing.

This is a landmark accomplishment as it is the first time a rocket has been brought back in a reusable state. This is a massive first step in making space exploration more affordable as a reusable rocket is much more cost effective than a one-time spacecraft.

The accomplishment was incredibly technical, and this is not the first attempt the company has made.

This particular rocket will not be reused due to its historical significance, according to Billionaire owner Elon Musk.

Watch the technicians of SpaceX celebrate their victory as the rocket comes safely back to earth.
