Back in October when various deadlines for the Democratic 2016 race loomed, many wondered whether or not Vice President Joe Biden would be throwing his hat in the ring for the presidency. Biden kept all of America waiting with baited breath while CNN readied a podium right up until the start of the first debate in case the vice president decided to join last minute.
Biden finally put the rumors to rest when he announced in late October that he would not be running. Many guessed that his decision was colored by the recent death of his son Beau in May, but nevertheless, the 2016 race charged on without him.
During an interview on Wednesday with WVIT-TV, Biden admitted that he was not completely happy with the decision he had made.
“Sure I regret it every day but it was not the right decision for my family and for me.”
He also lent some extra legitimacy to Bernie Sanders campaign when he referred to the race as one with “two good candidates,” showing that he did not endorse the establishment candidate over the Senator. Sorry, O’Malley.
