During a recent interview with the New York Times, Head of the DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz criticized young women in America, saying that they did not appreciate or defend their reproductive rights because they hadn’t lived in a pre-Roe v. Wade world.
Schultz, who has received a great deal of criticism in recent months about her apparent biases and failures to uphold the values of the Democratic party, called young women complacent.
Do you notice a difference between young women and women our age in their excitement about Hillary Clinton? Is there a generational divide?
Here’s what I see: a complacency among the generation of young women whose entire lives have been lived after Roe v. Wade was decided.
So rather than address a legitimate criticism of Hillary Clinton, Schultz diverts and criticizes young women, effectively calling them lazy.
Of course, if young women are lazy and complacent, then you don’t really mind if they don’t vote for your darling candidate, right Debbie?
