It seems that when Senator Bernie Sanders speaks publicly, he gets himself noticed in a big way. It’s the reason many have speculated that the chair of the DNC worked to limit the number of debates and scheduled them in low traffic times like the Saturday before Christmas and during football playoffs.
During Sunday night’s debate, Sanders received $1 million in donations. That $1 million came from more than 36,000 individual contributions, a further illustration of the true grassroots campaign that the senator has created.
The money came rolling in with a particular vigor during the close of the debate when 3.2 contributions per second were registered as the Senator said his final words. Sanders also garnered the most new Twitter followers during the debate as well as topping Facebook and Google searches.
These results, combined with the recent polls in Iowa and New Hampshire are undeniable proof that Bernie Sanders is a real contender in this race.
