When presidential candidate Donald Trump was asked what he plans to do when he replaces Obamacare if he were to be elected, Trump showed once again that he has no actual policy ideas outside of repeating the same blanket statements. While Democratic candidates are being pressed for their specific policy proposals, candidates like Trump get away with saying “we’ll work something out.”
Host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump about his healthcare ideas and how they differ from single-payer, which is the proposal that many Democrats have suggested. Trump vehemently denied supporting such a socialist idea and instead said,
“If people have no money, we have to help people, but that doesn’t mean single payer. It means we have to help people.”
“We’re going to work with our hospitals, we’re going to work with our doctors. We’ve got to do something. You can’t have a small percentage of our economy — because they’re down and out — have absolutely no protection so they end up dying.”
“We’ll work something out.”
Great plan, Trump.
