In Trump’s continued efforts to convince Evangelical voters that he is a God-fearing Christian, the candidate attended a religious service in Iowa shortly before the Iowa Caucus. During the service, Trump proved that he doesn’t spend too much time in the House of the Lord as he failed to understand the purpose of the communion plate and instead treated it as a donation plate.

…when the Communion plates were passed, Trump mistook the silver plates for the offertory, digging out several bills from his pocket, according to the Associated Press. He, his wife and two staffers took Communion, the AP reports.

“I thought it was for offering,” he told staffers with a laugh. He contributed money several minutes later when the offering plates were passed.

This should clearly be strike three on the Trump-Is-Clearly-Faking-This chart. If Evangelicals can still convince themselves that Trump is the sort of holy leader they are looking for, then they deserve what they get.
