Ericka Garner has been protesting in the spot where her father was murdered by police officers on every Tuesday and Thursday for over a year. Sometimes she just goes to the spot and lies down, mourning her father and railing against a system that would allow his death.

“I was able to see my dad die on national TV. They don’t know what they took from us.”

Garner considers herself to be a protester, just like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. She sees a deep racial issue in America that is far from being solved. But she also sees hope in Bernie Sanders.

“We need a president that’s gonna talk about it. I believe Bernie Sanders is a protester. He’s not scared. That’s why I’m for Bernie.”
