John Oliver, host of HBO’s hit show “Last Week Tonight” returned after a three month hiatus to discover that a whole lot of insanity had occurred in his absence.
Oliver said that he planned to do a recap of all of the clown car antics including the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire primary and more. Instead, Oliver was hit with the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia which caused the biggest controversy in 2016 politics yet.
“Yes, it seems the ‘Thurmond Rule’ is a bit like God: when things are going your way, you don’t bring it up a lot. But as soon as you’re in trouble — it is all that you talk about.”
