Presidential candidate Donald Trump loves to talk about giving money to veteran organizations as a sort of battering ram to get what he wants, but he wasn’t always so reverent towards the armed forces.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Trump joked that while he didn’t participate in that whole Vietnam war thing, he faced his own personal Vietnam by battling through the 80’s and a harem of women while somehow avoiding any serious sexually transmitted infections.

“I’ve been so lucky in terms of that whole world. It is a dangerous world out there — it’s scary, like Vietnam. Sort of like the Vietnam era. It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier.”

What?
