106-year-old Virginia McLaurin has lived through a lot, but she never thought she would live to see (and meet) a black president of the United States.

The elderly woman didn’t appear to be elderly at all as she shuffled and danced while holding the hands of President Obama and the First Lady over the weekend. All three were overjoyed to be in one another’s presence in honor of Black History month.

“I tell you, I am so happy. A black president, yay, and his black wife.”

“I thought I would never live to get in the White House.”

Knowing the history that this woman lived through makes her joy all the richer.

106-year-old Virginia McLaurin meets the Obamas, does awesome …All Mondays should begin with this video. Forever.
