Fox News host Bill O’Reilly loves to take the moral high-ground, pretending that his life and his choices are a beacon for how a life should be lived. O’Reilly’s uppity attitude exists despite evidence that he is a wife-beater and a general failure at being a parent.

This idea was further proven on Monday when O’Reilly lost an appeal for custody of his two teen-aged children. The decision was handed down by the court after his 13 and 17-year-old children expressed their interest in remaining with their mother full-time. The court respected their wishes and acknowledged the preferable living conditions of the mother.

The host of “The O’Reilly Factor” has used his public platform for years to decry liberal parenting and parenting of African American families. O’Reilly loves to claim that the blame for black crime lies at the feet of black families, but he can’t even keep his own family in a safe environment.

A leaked piece of testimony reveals that O’Reilly’s daughter witnessed the brute abusing his wife, dragging her down the staircase by her neck. The amount of mental suffering his children have undoubtedly suffered in his care is disturbing.

But if O’Reilly’s case were being discussed on “The O’Reilly Factor,” Bill would say what he said to a guest in 2015:

O’REILLY: OK. And drugs issues. Now, my point is: I feel terrible for you that you had to go through that, I really do. And I give literally hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities to help kids who are in your circumstance. You should know that.

JOHNSON-HUSTON: Thank you and I appreciate it.

O’REILLY: But that’s not society’s fault that your mother was a drug addict and alcoholic and you didn’t have a father. That’s not my fault. But that was my point and it was clearly made.
