Last week, Hawaiian Representative and co-chair of the Democratic National Convention Tulsi Gabbard resigned from her DNC position and put forth her strong endorsement for Senator Bernie Sanders. Gabbard lent a strong endorsement for Sanders’ foreign policy experience as Gabbard served two deployments overseas and is a decorated member of Hawaii’s Army National Guard.

After coming out in strong support of Senator Sanders, Gabbard told MSNBC that her decision was not supported by many.

“I’ll be very honest with you, a lot of people warned me against doing what I did,” Gabbard said. “And what I did speaks to the high stakes that exists.”

It appears that the long hand of the establishment finds its way in all areas of government and that what Gabbard did was more brave than anyone realized.
