On “Real Time With Bill Maher” on Friday, the host tried to pinpoint the real reason behind Trump’s rise to the top of the Republican party. Maher said that the commonly cited racism, xenophobia, and fetal alcohol syndrome were too easy.

What was really the cause? The self esteem movement. Trump was taught that he is the most important person in the whole wide world – and he never stopped believing it.

Despite all evidence to the contrary, Trump believes that no one does anything better than himself, whether it be building a giant wall, creating jobs, or being presidential.
