Longtime Sanders supporter and surrogate, former Ohio state senator Nina Turner made an appearance on CNN on Monday to discuss the recent back-and-forth between Former President Bill Clinton and a group of Black Lives Matter activists.

Clinton doubled down on comments made by secretary Clinton in the 90’s defending the use of the term “Superpredators” despite the fact that secretary Clinton has already expressed regret over using the term. Bill oversimplified the complex racial issues in America and unconditionally defended his crime bill which altered the landscape of black families for generations.

Turner addressed this back-and-forth and said that it was a strong sign that the Clintons are taking advantage of African American loyalty without addressing issues important to those in the community.

“We cannot be Superpredators in the 90’s and a firewall in the fall.”

Turner said that this wasn’t just an issue with the Clintons, and that black communities should begin to look into their loyalty to the Democratic party as a whole to determine whether the liberal party is earning those votes they are being consistently given.
