In the 2016 election, no candidate has shown such gosh-darn consternation about the state of the Republican race like failed candidate Jeb Bush.
Showing up a day late and a dollar short, Jeb commented over the weekend on the hilarity of Donald Trump’s Cinco de Mayo taco salad tweet in which the Republican nominee advertised his hotel’s food selection, showing off a highly unappetizing Mexican-inspired dish and managing an insult at Hispanics too, all within a compacted 140 characters.

Bush, whose wife Columba was born in Mexico, commented that Trump’s pandering tweet was absolutely insulting to all Hispanic people.
“What Trump did was so insensitive. First, not all Hispanics are Mexican. Secondly, not all Hispanics eat tacos. Thirdly, showing your sensitivity by eating an American dish is the most insensitive thing you can do. Fourthly, to say this, next to all things he already said, is a further insult. It’s like eating a watermelon and saying ‘I love African-Americans.’”
Maybe if Jeb had said this nearly two weeks ago when it happened, it might’ve made an impact. But just like everything else Jeb has done in his political career, it’s just not good enough.
