The drama surrounding the Nevada Caucus events of the weekend have rolled over into the week as Democratic voters and media members weigh in on the mess.
CNN’s Van Jones is often considered to be all-in for Hillary Clinton, but his criticisms of the Nevada caucus were leveraged at Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Democratic establishment.
Wasserman Schultz made a statement in response to the supposed death threats made by people who claimed to be Sanders supporters, saying that the Senator did not do enough to quell the violence and condemn his supporters.
“If you’re gonna come out, you’re gonna talk about violence, and you’re the DNC chair, you’ve gotta be fair about it. I think she made it worse,” Jones said. “We need to bring these people together — that did not happen.”
“I don’t think that that was wise for her to do that. First of all, Bernie did say in his statement that he was against the violence. Also, if you want to talk about violence, only one person’s been arrested; it was a Hillary Clinton supporter, Wendell Pierce, arrested for assaulting a Sanders supporter.”
Jones’ commentary was spot-on and shows that CNN pundits are not all lost to the corporate monster.
Wasserman Schultz is meant to be a peacekeeper in the party, and though she may feign impartiality, her actions when it really matters prove otherwise.
