When Ken Starr was removed as president of Baylor University, many felt that a bit of justice had been served as it was clear that the man had taken a key role in the suppression of rape accusations lodged against student athletes at the university.

But it appears that his removal didn’t go far enough as Starr has elected to voluntarily step down from his demoted position as Chancellor.

Starr has said that he intends to remain a professor of law at the university, but that he was accepting responsibility for his role in the rape scandal.

“I have to and I willingly do accept responsibility. The captain goes down with the ship.”

Notably, this quote came shortly after he again denied having any knowledge of the goings-ons of the rape cases. His acceptance of blame is merely a token gesture, nothing more.

Watch.
