Over the weekend, President Obama attended a Florida-based DNC fundraiser to schmooze with big donors and offer his support to corrupt establishment character Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Though the general opinion of Wasserman Schultz is extremely and increasingly negative, the president stood behind the DNC chair unwaveringly.

Addressing a crowd of folks who had paid anything from $10,000 and $30,000, Obama tried to make it sound like Wasserman Schultz is a grassroots, dedicated worker rather than a corporate shill intent on swaying the party to her agenda.

“I don’t know how she does it because she’s everywhere all the time, non-stop, and she’s a mom and a wife, and has been just an incredible supporter of my agenda. She’s taken tough votes when they’re the right thing to do, and she is somebody who I have counted on consistently. She’s had my back. I want to make sure we have her back — Debbie Wasserman Schultz.”

Obama always seems to be taking a step in the right direction before turning around and doing something disingenuous like this. The president should be taking the temperature of his constituents, not backing the most reviled Democrat in the party.
