Though we’re not sure why, the Trump campaign announced on Monday morning that they would be parting ways with infamous campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

In case you don’t keep up with politics 24/7 (and why the heck not?!), Lewandowski is the violent Trump devotee who assaulted a reporter for no reason earlier this year. Just a week later, he was also seen assaulting a rally-attending protester.

When that drama was going down, Trump stood by his manager unquestionably. He suggested that the assaulted Reporter Michelle Fields had lied about the incident. Lewandowski said he had never met Fields, didn’t know her, and didn’t touch her.

Then a video of the assault was found, but Trump still defended his campaign manager by suggesting that possibly Fields had a “tiny bomb” in her hand instead of a pen. It was an insane back-and-forth that cost a reporter much of her reputation and awarded Lewandowski with a named mention during Trump’s Florida victory speech.

But now, Trump has finally given Lewandowski the boot. The “why” of this decision is one that will likely baffle us for a long time, but what omen does it spell for the Trump campaign?

Much like his good buddy, Carson, there have been many reports about the disarray and general lack of organized structure in the Trump campaign, and this loss of campaign manager is the most significant change.

The Trump campaign seems to be particularly fragile in recent weeks in the aftermath of Trump’s racist judge comments, the news about Trump University, and Trump’s questionable veteran donations. For Trump to have tossed aside his most devoted staffer shows that there is possibly more turmoil in the campaign than any of us were aware.
