It appears that the final dregs of the Bernie Sanders campaign are still hanging on tightly to their principals as Sanders corrected the record this week about whether or not he plans to endorse Secretary Hillary Clinton for the presidency.

Sanders has gone back and forth on his support for Clinton, much to the confusion and frustration of many of his supporters who don’t know whether he has given in and supported his opponent or better yet, he has something up his sleeve.

Last week, the Senator said that he believed he would most likely not be the Democratic nominee, and then a few days later said that he would be voting for Clinton in the general.

But the night before he said he would vote for her, he told another news outlet that he wasn’t ready to say who he was voting for. And the afternoon after he said he would vote Clinton, he clarified his remarks and again said that he wasn’t quite ready to give her his vote.

Now, that same insecurity about his campaign’s direction has manifested itself into a question of whether or not the Senator will endorse Clinton – Vice President Joe Biden had told media outlets that Sanders would indeed be endorsing, but Sanders didn’t quite agree with Biden’s assessment of the situation.

Sanders has said repeatedly that he doesn’t plan on exiting the race until the convention has taken place, so it makes sense that he would reserve his official endorsement until then.

“We are working with the Clinton campaign, trying to be able to come forward and say to my supporters, ‘Here’s the progress that we have made.’ I hope that we can meet that goal. We are not there at this moment.”

Considering that millions of voters are not quite ready to support Clinton as well, it is comforting to see that the progressive champion hasn’t quite thrown in the towel for the Clinton camp.
