The United States has a poor reputation around the world. Like Americans do with others, Americans are stereotyped by people in other countries. Generally, Americans are viewed as fat, loud, and closed-minded.

Today being the day after the most patriotic day of the year, it’s a good idea to find our grounding again and remember that America isn’t exactly the city shining on a hill that we all like to believe it is.

From body type to behaviors, these citizens of various nations all over the world offer up examples of ways they can locate an American in a crowd.

While many of the attributes are negative, there are a few positive American traits as well, so we can all take comfort in that.
