Debbie Wasserman Schultz already lost her job as head of the DNC – and now she could soon lose her Florida congressional seat. With less than a month to go before her August 30 primary – Wasserman Schultz’s lead over progressive Berniecrat challenger Tim Canova is rapidly disappearing. As FloridaPolitics.com reports – “Debbie Wasserman Schultz leads her Democratic challenger Tim Canova by eight percentage points in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, 46 percent to 38 percent, according to a new poll released Sunday… What’s more, after the pollsters provided more information about Canova to likely voters, Wasserman Schultz’ lead was reduced to just three points, 43 percent to 40 percent.” How important of a symbolic (and real life) victory would a Tim Canova victory be for the emerging progressive Berniecrat movement?
