On Tuesday afternoon, Senator Bernie Sanders sent out an email blast, the first of its kind since the Democratic convention when he gave the nomination to Hillary Clinton.
In the email, the Senator urged supporters to give generously to his newly established political organization Our Revolution on behalf of congressional candidate Tim Canova who is currently running against Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Sanders, who had previously endorsed Canova and called for the resignation of Wasserman Schultz from her position as DNC chair (she has since resigned), is now taking his support to the next level with this active fundraising effort.
“The recent emails leaked from Democratic Party staff showed that under Debbie Wasserman Schultz, DNC staff were not exactly fair and even-minded during the presidential primary. What was revealed wasn’t much of a shock to us, because we knew all along that the establishment wasn’t on our side.”
Canova has already out raised Wasserman Schultz consistently the last couple of months, spring boarded by Bernie Sanders revolution. Now that Wasserman Schultz is out at the Democratic party, the time is ripe for the progressive movement to push the candidate out of office for good.
