The Democratic National Committee has been suffering through leak after leak, exposing the crooked dealings of the corrupt party.
One leak which deserves greater attention is the specific way in which the party created a pay-to-play system of fundraising which encouraged lobbyists to gather as much cash as possible for a better prize.
It might remind one of time spent during adolescence, trying to sell cheap candles or candy bars in order to win a bigger prize – maybe a Walkman or a cool hat – but now, these prizes aren’t just trinkets, and the price isn’t $9.99.
The system of tit-for-tat in our government might shock you by how direct it is. Millions of dollars flow into the party’s coffer by way of aggressive lobbyists who wheedle and whinge to raise as much as they can from wealthy supporters.
Donors who raise enough can win dinners with Clinton or a seat next to Obama at a champagne brunch. Pay the right price and you can even boot a cancer patient out of his seat.
Based on email and audio leaks, what we could once only speculate on has now become a clear system in the liberal party. This corruption seeps from the bottom down, and removing money from politics is the only solution.
