There’s really nothing more rich than a gang of pasty, fat white men joining together to shame a universally beautiful woman for gaining 10 pounds.
Ever since Monday’s debate, former Miss Universe Alicia Machado has been the subject of conversation in the political sphere, centered around the way she was treated by Donald Trump years ago.
During the debate, Hillary Clinton mentioned Machado in the context of the terrible, racist things Trump called her after she gained a few pound shortly after winning the beauty contest. Machado said that the now-candidate called her “Miss Piggy” and even “Miss Housekeeping.” Trump ambushed Machado by inviting the press to attend her work-outs, humiliating the young woman.
Proving that insecure, small-minded men never go out of style, Newt Gingrich has jumped to Trump’s defense on this important political issue (not), choosing to rant and rave over Machado’s weight gain all those years ago.
On Wednesday, Newt addressed a group of Republicans and seemingly brought up the Miss Universe controversy from thin air.
“You’re not supposed to gain 60 pounds during the year that you’re Miss Universe. Not fair. Even my act of saying that is sexist and proves I’m not being sensitive.”
Yes, you’re exactly right, Newt. You are sexist – an absolute sexist pig in the most literal sense of those words. If you can’t see that, there is no hope for you.
Watch.
