Ever since Corey Lewandowski left the Trump campaign in disgrace, it was well-known that he was still being paid by his former boss, even as he accepted a new job at CNN as a correspondent.
Lewandowski is most famous for his assault of a female reporter and his subsequent character assassination and denial of that assault, but he has become better known for his shameless shilling for Trump on CNN.
This week, it was announced that Lewandowski would no longer be receiving compensation from the Trump campaign, but also this week, the man was caught reciting Trump campaign talking-points outright while serving as a talking head on network TV.
Lewandowski was chatting on-air with CNN host Alisyn Camerota when she noticed something a little fishy. Camerota mentioned Trump’s latest scandal concerning his possibly illegal dealings with Cuba during the embargo, and as the Trump campaign memo instructs, Lewandowski deflected and pivoted to Clinton scandal instead.
Camerota chucked as she declared,
“Talking point number 18 here in the talking point memo!”
While this is a striking example, it’s been clear from the start that Lewandowski’s only goal while working at CNN is improving and protecting Trump’s image.
Despite this, the network continues to employ the scummy man. While we applaud Camerota for calling the man out on his paint-by-number defense of Trump, we can only imagine how angry CNN execs are at being called out.
