We haven’t heard much from former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, likely because the party knew that her presence was massacring support for Clinton among those who felt Wasserman Schultz had acted unfairly to Sanders in the primary.
But now that Clinton feels fairly confident that she has this thing all wrapped up, Wasserman Schultz has come slinking out of the shadows to try and win back her reputation and rewrite the narrative – fat chance.
Sitting down for an interview with Vice News, the disgraced former DNC chair mocked the idea that she and other DNC leadership had plans to nominate Clinton from the start.
“Trust me, I could have – we – we could have done so many things to advance the campaign of one candidate over another another.”
The reporter remarked that Bernie Sanders’ campaign had gone pretty well – and indeed it did, with millions of young voters across the country backing him with gusto. Rather than respecting him for that, though, Wasserman Schultz remarked with indignation,
“Which is why it was so mind boggling when he was complaining about the number of debates because things were going just fine!”
So why did that evil Sanders turn on sweet, gentle, uncorrupted Wasserman Schultz? She has a theory.
“The Sanders campaign began to aggressively find a scapegoat and turn the attention away from the mistakes that they made. And they did so successfully and made me the boogeywoman. But that’s okay!”
Is it, Wasserman Schultz? Because you seem awfully salty.
