It has now been several days since Donald Trump was made the president-elect of this nation by millions of regressive and hateful voters across the nation. Since then, the impact of his victory has been felt at every level, with adults and children alike lashing out in racially-motivated acts of hate toward minority groups.

Probably the most disheartening instance of these comes from school-aged children, who while they understand little about politics and government, sadly understand far too much about racial hate.

Parents have reported that schools have sent home letters of encouragement, as well as calling students’ homes to reassure parents that they will continue the same values of love and acceptance.

Children are fearful and afraid to sleep at night, worried if someone will grab their privates, since Trump said it was okay. Worried that Trump will deport their families, thanks to the color of their skin.

Meanwhile, children are anonymously writing hate speech on bathroom walls or on classroom furniture. Children are telling their brown classmates that Trump will deport them, or that they are terrorists.

The video below from NowThis details just a small handful of the hate we have seen this week. The election from Trump doesn’t just signify the poison of racial hate in adult populations, it is also inspiring an entire generation of children to hate their neighbor as well.
