Speaking to Dana Bash in an interview on Sunday morning, Senator Bernie Sanders grew frustrated when pushed to comment on the recount efforts being made by Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

Said Sanders:

“No one expects there to be profound change, but there’s nothing wrong with going through the process.”

The Senator then tried to pivot to discussing Trump and his campaign promises but Bash wasn’t satisfied and pushed him to give more of a response to Stein’s recount efforts.

“Dana, this is exactly the issue. Nobody cares! The Green Party has the legal right. Republicans have requested ― I think the governor of North Carolina right now is thinking about doing a recount.”

“That’s a legal right. They do it. I don’t think that Hillary Clinton, who got 2 million more votes than Mr. Trump in the popular election, said it’s going to transform the election,” he concluded. “But do people have the legal right to do it? Yeah, we do.”

Sanders has been particularly annoyed by mainstream media lately due to their frequent questions about things he considers non-issues like whether he will run for president in 2020.

To Sanders, these questions about a recount are more of the same – an easy distraction for corporate media to focus on while ignoring so many other vital issues.

Of course, if Sanders is to truly be the leader of the Democratic party we need him to be, he is going to have to accept that repetitive, uninspired questions like these are just a part of the job.

Sanders wants to stay on the issues – and he will – which is so many are devoted to him.

Watch.
