Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Democratic insider and champion of big money in politics, has once again been named the House Minority Leader.

Pelosi was chosen by House Democrats to continue representing them on Wednesday morning, meaning that the congresswoman will retain the position she has held for the last 14 years.

Though Pelosi was considered yet another member of the Democratic establishment who should be purged, the strongest voices in the House demanded that she be retained because of her ability to bring in massive amounts of donations to the party.

So once again, money won in this corrupt party of ours.

Ohio congressman Tim Ryan offered a strongly-worded opposition to Pelosi, calling on fresh leadership to lead the party. Notably, Ryan argued that retaining Pelosi would only show the Democrat constituency that the party leadership had learned nothing from this election.

“Keeping the same leadership will not allow us to get out of the same frame, the same box, we’ve been put in — as being complicit in the problem as opposed to against the problem.”

Pelosi showed a bit of unsportsmanlike conduct during recent weeks when she bragged about the significant support she enjoyed.

“Without even asking anybody for a vote, I have over two-thirds of the caucus supporting me,” Pelosi said, according to The Huffington Post’s Matt Fuller. “It’s a funny thing, in a caucus or any place: When somebody challenges you, your supporters turn out.”

Of course they do, Pelosi, that’s the whole point of a legitimate political competition. So just because she was popular among the elite, Pelosi figured Ryan had better not even try at all.

Fortunately for Pelosi, her haughty attitude prevailed and she has been retained as minority leader in the house.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, the Democratic party has displayed that they have not learned a damn thing from November’s election. Our once great party has now become a party of big donors and corrupt “compromise.”

So much for a revolution.
