When the fascist bigots of the government don’t want a Muslim American man leading the party they oppose, it’s safe to say that he is probably the single best choice for the position.

This week, the Observer, a right-leaning news organization owned by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, published a hit piece on Keith Ellison, front-runner for the vacant DNC chair.

In the piece, the Observer urged Democrats not to choose Ellison, citing his shaky history concerning the Muslim brotherhood and his association with anti-Semites. Though Ellison has long apologized for any association and clarified that he himself never took part in any anti-Jewish rhetoric.

Using the dog-whistle of the so-called “alt-right,” the Observer article pretends to be on the side of the Democratic party when it says it is “terrified” that the party might be “hijacked by the most radical elements within it.”

‘Radical’ you say? Hmmm…

The article continues its serious smear of Ellison that argues not only is he anti-Israel, but probably anti-Semitic too.

“Congressman Ellison’s recent pronouncements about Israel and its “control” of U.S. foreign policy reflect an anti-Israel – if not anti-Semitic – bias that is reprehensible.”

But though the Observer has a semi-rational line of criticism concerning Ellison’s past, it is when they turn to his far-left beliefs that the whole article falls to hilarious pieces.

“Mr. Ellison was a supporter of Bernie Sanders during the presidential primaries, and his politics are as far left as the Democratic party can go. He once called for Dick Cheney’s impeachment and compared George W. Bush to Hitler. Although he has a fax line in his office, his website says they will not respond to faxes “for environmental reasons.””

Egads! Say it ain’t so! The party that failed to elect Hillary Clinton might now choose a man to lead the party who supported the insanely popular Bernie Sanders? And he rightfully believes Cheney is a war criminal? And he doesn’t use a fax machine?

This isn’t just “fake news,” it’s idiotic news. Don’t fall for it.

If the GOP wants to get rid of Ellison so badly, you must try to find out why. Could it be that he threatens their homogeneous view of America? Could it be that they are afraid of what he might actually do to the dying Democratic party?

Don’t give the GOP what they want – give them Ellison.
