Finally a bit of transparency from one of the most despicable GOP-ers on corporate TV today!
Though right-wingers like to keep the public believing that they aren’t in favor of white supremacy, honest, Bill O’Reilly engaged in a full-on KKK meeting on corporate television on Tuesday evening when discussing the electoral college.
O’Reilly accused the left of fighting against white privilege and attempting to rework the white-empowering structures to empower literally anyone else – what a crime! But that is exactly what the left is trying do – and rightly so.
“Talking Points believes this is all about race. The left sees white privilege in America as an oppressive force that must be done away with. The left wants power taken away from the white establishment. They want a profound change in the way America is run. Taking voting power away from the white precincts is the quickest way to do that.”
“The liberal media tries to sell that all day long — so-called white privilege bad, diversity good.”
Why should we fight to keep the current structure, which overwhelmingly favors white men, in place? When the only thing we have to lose is overt supremacy and inequality, why would anyone oppose equality?
It’s simply that O’Reilly and others like him feel a strong fear of no longer being in charge of the nation or the world. They have spent their entire lives knowing that their voices, their opinions, and their bodies mean more and can do more than anyone else.
It is the exact fear which empowered millions to support Donald Trump. His overt white maleness made so many feel that they could be safe in their own privilege without considering for just one second what anyone else might be feeling or thinking. Blissful ignorance, once again.
So yes, O’Reilly, and any other white American who feels that their way of life is being threatened – liberals are coming for your supremacy. They are coming for that superior feeling you get when you see minority groups. They are coming for your presidency, and your cabinet, and your state house, and your board room.
You aren’t the only one that matters – what a fucking revelation.
