After spending eight years whining about how Barack Obama overstepped his role as POTUS, the Republicans seem eager for their new president-elect to do the same – and more.
Speaking to MSNBC this week, Newt Gingrich, long-time Trump advisor, said that Trump could overcome any controversy in his cabinet by pardoning any and all crimes. This would clear the way for virtually anyone to be in his cabinet if he so chooses, according to the Newt.
Said Gingrich:
“He also has, frankly, the power of the pardon. I mean, it is a totally open power, and he could simply say ‘look, I want them to be my advisors, I pardon them if anybody finds them to have behaved against the rules, period.'”
According to Gingrich, not only does Trump have that constitutional power, but he should feel free to use it whenever – democracy be damned!
Considering that fact, though, it makes it especially sad that Trump never found a place among his deplorable rejects for Newty – guess there’s only so much sh*t you can scrape off, even as POTUS.
