It appears that Newt Gingrich really won’t be getting any last-minute cabinet positions after all after he was publicly rebuked by his lord and savior Donald Trump for suggesting that the infamous campaign slogan “Drain the Swamp,” was no longer a focus of the President-elect.
After Gingrich made his comments about the Swamp phrase, Donald Trump issued an angry tweet which didn’t name named, but everyone knew exactly who it was about.
Someone incorrectly stated that the phrase “DRAIN THE SWAMP” was no longer being used by me. Actually, we will always be trying to DTS.

It took 22 minutes from the time that tweet was sent for Gingrich to issue his own feckless apology in the form of a video posted on Twitter.
Gingrich was truly only responding the best he could when he said that draining the swamp was no longer at the top of Trump’s list. After all, from the moment he began naming members of his administration, it was clear that if anything, Trump had dived head-first into the swamp and was squishing the mud between his toes.
From appointing racist Jeff Sessions as Attorney General to making oil tycoon Rex Tillerson his Secretary of State, each pick by the Trump camp has been more toad-like than the one before.
In Newt’s apology video, he is sure to assure the American public that when he makes a mistake, he plans to own up to it – a character that his own boss sadly lacks.
Kiss the ring, Newt!
I goofed. Draining the swamp is in, @realDonaldTrump is going to do it, and the alligators should be worried. #DTS https://t.co/nCHs61gpve pic.twitter.com/OCO7eaSKvk
