In this Majority Report clip, we watch a clip from the confirmation hearing for Betsy DeVos, Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education. The proceedings were a total s–tshow; DeVos is a Christian conservative zealot who does not believe in public schools. Her brother, Erik Prince, founded Blackwater and is “secretly” advising Donald Trump on intelligence matters. Her parents founded the Edgar & Elsa Prince Foundation, which has donated millions to right-wing groups, many of which fervently advocate against LGBTQ rights. The problematic nature of the few things listed above warrants an entire book unto itself, but suffice it to say, DeVos’s family’s money has exerted incredible influence and power over the Republican Party. Coincidentally, she is in no way qualified for this cabinet position.
