In this Majority Report clip, look how tough congressional Democrats can get when they know the reality of the situation is the corporatocracy will get their man Gorsuch installed anyway via the nuclear option. Puffing their filibuster feathers looks great to the enraged left base with the added benefit of not upsetting corporate donors because the end result is the same Gorsuch. Great kabuki theater here. That said, filibustering Gorsuch is better than not.
