According to a recent Fox News poll, only 36% of Republicans would vote for Donald Trump if the 2020 election were held today, while 55% say that they would vote for another candidate. The majority of these respondents were Fox News viewers, and even they aren’t happy with the madman we have running this country. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.
Transcript of the above video:
According to a recent poll by Fox News, of all places, only 36% of Donald Trump voters said that they would vote for him again if the 2020 election were held today. 55% of people who previously voted for Donald Trump in 2016 said that they would vote for someone else. Majority of Trump voters said they would not re-vote for this man if the 2020 election were held today. That is telling, and not only is it telling that the majority of Trump voters wouldn’t vote for him again, it’s telling that this was a Fox News poll, meaning that most of the people reached out to are Fox News viewers. Those aren’t the sane, rational republicans. No. Fox News viewers are the hard right, the alt right, if you will. Even they can’t stand Donald Trump at this point. For him to be, what, 105, 106, 107 some-odd days into his presidency and over half of his previous voters say they would not vote for him again, that is pathetic. Those are numbers that we have not seen in modern presidential politics, possibly throughout the history of presidential polling.
The only group with which Donald Trump still has a net favorability is white men without a college education. Basically, the whiter and dumber you are, the more you’re willing to support Donald Trump. That’s what the polls tell us, but this particular one, the reason I’m talking about this today is again because this is a Fox News poll. It’s not a CNN poll, or an ABC. No. This is Fox. These are the Donald Trump cheerleaders and even their viewers, after watching all day long this network do nothing but praise Donald Trump and praise the republicans, even those viewers aren’t buying it anymore. Maybe, maybe, small tiny percent of a chance here, some of these Fox News viewers are starting to wake up.
They’re understanding that what this network is feeding them every day isn’t always true. It’s not always accurate, and especially given the turmoil that’s happening behind the scenes at the network, I think a lot of people are starting to understand what this network is all about, what Roger Ailes was all about, what Bill O-Reilly was all about, and what Rupert Murdoch is all about. It’s all about oppression. It’s all about lying. It’s all about coverups. Even Fox News viewers, if only on this one issue, they’re starting to come around. If the democratic party is smart, they can capitalize on this.
Majority of people aren’t happy about the republican healthcare plan that just passed the house. They don’t want it. 82% of the country doesn’t want it. Harp on that. Harp on that every day from now until 2018, even if the senate doesn’t pass it. Make sure everybody remembers what they tried to do. We can reach some of these Fox News viewers. We can’t reach all of them by any means, but there are some out there who can come around. They just need to be presented with a better alternative, better facts, and a better candidate than what the democrats have been willing to put up in the past.
